Summer Tomato Salad

1 pint cherry tomatoes, halved

 

1 cup chopped heirloom tomatoes

 

1/4 cup chopped green onions

 

1 clove garlic, minced

 

1/4 cup chopped fresh basil

 

 

1/4 cup chopped cilantro

 

fresh ground black pepper to taste

 

red pepper flakes to taste

 

salt to taste

 

 

 

 

 

In a bowl, toss the cherry tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes, green onions, garlic, basil, cilantro, black pepper, red pepper, and salt. Refrigerate 30 minutes and toss again before serving.

 

This would make a great picnic meal as well. Add two cups cooked penne pasta, kamut or quinoa and one cup cooked cubed chicken to make this salad a main dish.
